British Minister for Culture to Hold Talks on Israeli Football Club Fan Ban
A police and crime commissioner from the West Midlands has requested an immediate review of the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's supporters from attending the upcoming game.
The commissioner, who oversees the force, states that this request aims to determine whether the ban is appropriate, essential, justified, reasonable, and a proportionate measure to accomplish a lawful objective.
"This must include consideration of all and any suitable, alternative options," the official adds.
The commissioner has also requested to review the written decision and suggestion from the safety committee, along with the police assessment.
The commissioner stresses, though, that the ultimate ruling belongs to the committee and the police.
