Residents witnessed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
