Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
