"In a five-day Test match, you should apply yourself. Playing at deliveries 'outside the line has not been part of the coaching manuals, and that is largely because of the frontline batsmen."

The Remaining Matches

Prompted about he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, came the reply: "It looks like the Australians are superior currently."

"It will require multiple performers that delivers for the team and turns the game."

A schoolteacher, Katie is determined to make the most of the 21,000-mile round-trip as part of her seasonal break.

"As a backup plan, there's always golf to rely on," Katie concluded.
