Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his public comments.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match after making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
He also suggested that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and securing victories.”
