Recent Oil Plant Attack Demonstrates 'Absolutely No Safe Locations in the Russian Deep Rear'

Ukrainian President Calls On Trump to Broker Ceasefire in the Conflict

President Zelenskyy appealed to President Trump to mediate a ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict during a call on the weekend.

"Provided that a hostilities can be halted in a particular zone, then certainly additional conflicts can be stopped as well, covering the conflict with Russia," Zelenskyy stated, commending Trump's "exceptional" Middle East ceasefire plan and requesting the US president to compel the Russian government into negotiations.

Russian Assaults Take Casualties in Ukraine

Moscow's assaults on Ukraine resulted in the deaths of 5 individuals on the weekend and caused blackouts to parts of the southern Odesa region, according to local sources.

Two civilians were killed within a church in the town when it was hit, according to local authorities.

In the Russian border region of Belgorod, a truck driver was killed by a Ukrainian strike, according to municipal sources.

Electricity Recovery Work in Kyiv

Operations continued on Saturday to recover electricity in the Ukrainian capital, after assaults.

Energy had been recovered to in excess of 800,000 residents by Saturday and the biggest power firm said the key efforts to restore power was concluded though some outages remained.

Anti-Aircraft Actions and Drone Interceptions

The Ukrainian air defences neutralized fifty-four of 78 total Russian drones launched towards the country overnight, the military reported on the weekend.

Russia's military authorities stated it intercepted 42 UAVs from Ukraine over the country's airspace.

Cuban Government Denies Accusations of Providing Forces to the War

The Cuban government on Saturday refuted American claims it has sent military personnel to engage in the Ukraine war, while stating officials in Havana "do not have exact data about Cuban nationals" involved "on their own" or "within the troops of both sides".

The foreign ministry in Havana said twenty-six Cuban citizens had been convicted to prison terms varying between five up to fourteen years for mercenary activity since September 2023 when news emerged of individuals being sent to the frontlines in the conflict.

Surrender Initiative Initiative Reports Data on Cuban National Involvement
