English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
